Daniel began his studies as a student of commerce, then taking the economics stream given his interest in political economy.

His completion after some professional experience of a Masters in Economic Policy was also completed at University of Galway, this course involving a placement for students, his being with the Institute of International and European Affairs in Dublin.

He later found himself taking part in a PhD programme at University of Galway during the economic crisis, successfully completing and then later taking up his current job as an economic researcher with the SIPTU trade union in Dublin, this being the country’s largest private sector trade union
